Salvaged VEB Industrial Steel Ceiling Light – Vintage German Cargo Pendant
Original mid-20th-century industrial cargo light made by VEB of Germany, salvaged and ready for a second life as a statement ceiling or pendant light. The conical steel body, hinged glass front and wire guard give it the look of a genuine working cargo lamp, and it suits kitchens, bars, workshops, lofts and industrial-style interiors.

Details
- Conical steel body with an aged, lacquered finish and natural patina
- Hinged glass front cover with a circular steel wire guard; the front opens for easy bulb access
- Three brass toggle clamps with screw-down catches hold the front closed
- Polished reflector fitted inside
- Top mounting bracket with hanging eye for suspending as a pendant, or fixing as a ceiling light
- Threaded cable entry fittings on the body
- Original ceramic lamp holder in place, believed to be E27 (an electrician can confirm this and replace it if preferred)
Electrical
Sold as an unwired light body. It has not been rewired or PAT tested and must be wired and checked by a qualified electrician before use.
Condition
Genuine vintage salvage, sold as found. Expect age-related wear including patina, uneven lacquer, surface rust or oxidation on the hinge and fittings, and minor marks. Each light differs slightly, so the photos show the character you can expect.
