Pauluhn

Pauluhn built marine and industrial lighting for conditions where failure wasn't an option. Founded in New York City in around 1939 by Carl Pauluhn and Sal Russo, the company — later manufactured under Crouse-Hinds in Texas — became a recognised name in flame-proof fittings for super tankers, cargo ships and other hazardous environments.

That over-engineering is exactly what makes these pieces so compelling today. The heavy cast aluminium bodies and thick glass housings were never designed with interiors in mind, yet they translate effortlessly into kitchens, dining rooms, workshops and commercial spaces. Each fitting carries the marks of genuine working life.

We source original Pauluhn fittings directly from marine salvage, offering both original-patina pieces and examples restored to shine. Stock is limited and one-off by nature.
