Hanil slave clocks are vintage, heavy-duty maritime timepieces manufactured in South Korea during the 1970s through the 1990s. Designed for synchronized time systems on large cargo ships, tankers, and military vessels, these industrial clocks run on a 24V DC electrical impulse from a central master clock rather than operating independently

Originally wired to the master clock in the captain’s cabin, these clocks kept every timepiece on board synchronised as the ship crossed into a new time zone. We have converted this example to run on a reliable AA battery-powered quartz mechanism. A small knob on the side unscrews to open the clock face and reveal the mechanism.

The radio dial face and original green paint give this clock an honest, functional aesthetic — the kind of piece that looks equally at home on a workshop wall, a study shelf, or in a nautical interior.
