Salvaged Aqua Signal Explosion-Proof Strip Light
A substantial industrial strip light manufactured by Aqua Signal in Germany, originally designed for hazardous marine and industrial environments where reliability was critical.
Built around a heavy cast aluminium body with a thick glass tube protected by a full steel cage, this is an authentic explosion-proof fitting from an era when industrial equipment was engineered for decades of service. The polished aluminium finish, exposed fasteners and technical detailing give it a distinctive mid-century industrial appearance that is impossible to replicate with modern decorative lighting.
Originally fitted with twin fluorescent tubes and certified for use in demanding commercial environments, the fitting retains its original identification plate, complete with German manufacturing and safety markings. At over a metre long and weighing 10kg, it has real presence and works particularly well in large kitchens, bars, workshops, loft spaces, restaurants and commercial interiors.
The integrated mounting brackets allow the fitting to be wall mounted or installed flush to a ceiling.
