Seiko Salvaged Ships Double Clock Original Paint Green White Face (narrow)

A genuinely rare find — we've never seen one quite like this before.

Manufactured circa 1970s, these beautiful Seiko double-sided ship's clocks are proving extremely popular. Originally slave clocks connected to the master clock in the captain's cabin, they allowed the captain to update every clock on board as the vessel entered a new time zone. This example has been converted to run on two reliable AA battery-powered silent quartz mechanisms. A small knob on each face unscrews to open the clock and reveal the movement.

The original green paint and white face are intact, giving this piece an authentic, unrestored character that sets it apart from polished variants.

In 1881, Kintarō Hattori of Tokyo introduced one of the first quartz watches, and from that point Seiko became known as a world-leading manufacturer of precision timepieces — both watches and clocks. Such was the quality of Seiko's engineering that it was the official timepiece manufacturer for the Japanese military during World War II.
