Built in Germany for hazardous marine and industrial environments, these explosion-proof fittings were engineered to operate reliably in some of the toughest conditions imaginable. This example remains in original condition, retaining the weathering, oxidation and industrial character earned through decades of service at sea.
At over 1.5 metres long, the scale is what makes this piece so impressive. A thick cylindrical glass tube runs between substantial cast aluminium end housings, creating a clean, architectural form that feels as relevant today as it did when it was manufactured in the 1970s.
